It was a great week and weekend. We left Wednesday morning at 530 am, to head for Oklahoma. About 630 pm, we pulled up to our hotel, ate, then slept. Thursday we went toFt. Sill base and got a briefing and watched some demonstrations of boot camp. Finally, they released our son's to us and we got to hug and spend the day with them. He had to report back by 8:45 pm. So after a nice dinner we headed back to Ft. Sill. On Friday, at 1pm, my son officially graduated from boot camp. By 3 it was done and we were allowed to take him and spend some time again with him before he leaves for his next training place. We went to a Japanese steak house and it was awesome. We had the best chef ever. He put on a great show for us. Chris ordered sushi, and introduced it to Tyler and Zach and dad. Again, at 845 he had to be back in the barracks. We had to say goodbye again it was hard to do. We know we will see him for Christmas though. He was sent on to Ft. Leonard wood, MO for his next phase of training. I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT SON!
Then Saturday we got up and got ready to go meet a long time online friend finally. We have known each other for approx, 12 yrs on line , but, have never met in person. Her daughter and my son are the same age and started writing each other a couple years ago as well and we were all excited to meet each other. We went to breakfast and met there. Then her son and mine the younger ones were getting bored so I suggested to head to hotel and let them swim while we visit. It was awesome to finally get to meet Kim and her family. Tyler enjoyed meeting Kelsey too. Zach found a new friend in Brandon as well. Plus, I think even the dad's hit off pretty good too. Even though my dh had to leave for a bit to pack the truck. At noon on Saturday we hit the road back home. It was a long 13 hours in the car, but, we did it. It was all worth it for me. I finally had my 4 boys together for a couple days. Plus, meeting a long time friend who I feel is just part of my family as well.
